I feel that. I just completed a 40 year tour of duty being MOM.
I almost forgot what I was doing before I started that 40 year assignment.
So imagine this — — if you scheduled your “me time”, in my VisionQuest program I call it “Bank of xxx” time — which for me is “Bank of Susan” time, and for you would be “Bank of Laura Belle” time — when you do that, it’s like putting money in a bank so it can build with compound interest.
Except in this bank, the compound interest is what you invest and reinvest in your own personal growth, development, and peace of mind. So that way, when you come out at the other end of your stint, dependent free, you will be this big badass with things to immediately work on and explore.
ALSO — imagine the personal leadership example you give to your dependents when you schedule your Bank of You time. You are also then teaching them to do the same. Teaching that it’s okay, and in fact, mandatory.
The single biggest comment I get in my VisionQuest program is “but that seems so selfish!” Isn’t that fascinating? That our societal constructs teach us to sacrifice our selves at all cost.
It’s not necessary. Others have made those sacrifices for us. It’s time we scheduled our Bank time, so we can set ourselves back into balance.
Things are so out of balance all across the planet. This is a very simple way to put things back in balance, one person at a time.
