I have one of those saddest photos too, of my boy Taz (aptly named for his quirky behavioral traits), also a rescue. Your story was touching, your last photo made me remember Taz and brought me to tears. It’s been years, and I still feel that. Thank you very much for writing this eulogy. There are so many great life lessons here. I think that’s why we love dogs. They relentlessly remind us to be better humans, even if we aren’t always present enough to pay attention.
