It sounds to me like you’ve found a legitimate code glitch.

If Medium is anything like most online outfits these days, their tech staff is underpopulated, underpaid and overworked. Getting someone’s attention is going to take a LOT of persistence on your part. How badly do you want it? The frustration alone…… I get it. I have a thing with PayPal right now that is over a year old and about to write a HUGE expose about it.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil. ALWAYS. Some things really DO NOT CHANGE.

When I worked with IBM, one of the jobs I had, AFTER I helped BUILD the internet, (I was there before there even WAS an internet), I had a mediation job. People on the outside of IBM used to complain and tell me, “you guys, you are all conspiring to put us out of business.” This was coming from third party dealers in IBM equipment.

I used to laugh and say, “HA! You think so? Conspiracy is when everyone is aware and talking to each other! You think everyone here, in this huge company, is gathering together to conspire against YOU?”

We all like to think that everyone’s out to get us. Mostly it’s untrue.

Although, I DO love that saying, “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you.”

I’d say in this case though? You’re just another squeaky gear. You need to be louder before you get any oil.
